About Redact PDF
A PDF redact tool permanently blacks out (and removes the underlying text from) selected regions of a PDF. Critical for legal filings, FOIA responses, and any document share where sensitive info must not leak. Black rectangles are not enough — the underlying text must be deleted, not just covered.

A black box overlay still has the original text in the PDF stream. Anyone can copy-paste underneath. True redaction must delete the text content, not just cover it.
Open the redacted PDF, try to select / copy / search the redacted area. Nothing should be selectable. Run a text-extract tool over it to triple-check.
Yes — image regions can also be blacked out. The underlying pixels in that area are overwritten.
